David Timm is a recent graduate of Henry Sibley High School. He will be starting his freshman year at Princeton University this fall where he plans to pursue a certificate of vocal performance and an undecided major.
David started his musical career with Project Opera, performing in youth operas and main-stage Minnesota Opera productions throughout elementary and middle school. In high school, he participated in Sibley’s drama and choir programs, winning multiple Outstanding spotlight awards, and participating two years in a row in the Minnesota All-State choir. This past winter, David was named a finalist in MPR’s Minnesota Varsity competition. He has received 1st place in the NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing) high school competition in both classical (sophomore and senior years) and music theater division (senior year). In music theater, he continued on and advanced to the NATS national semi-finals and represented the North Central region in Las Vegas just this past June.
In addition to his dedication to classical and musical theatre performance, David is an aspiring composer, artist, singer/songwriter, and producer. He had the privilege of composing the senior song sung by Sibley’s Chamber Choir at graduation. In his free time, he paints and records his own music. David is not sure what the future holds, but he knows music and art will always be a part of his life.
