Teresa Tierney
After graduating from the College of St. Catherine, Teresa Tierney received her Master of Music from the University of Colorado at Boulder. In addition to studying vocal performance, she earned her degree in composition and music theory. Since returning to Minnesota she has been an active singer, composer, and teacher.
As a vocalist, she has performed with the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, sang and recorded with the Dale Warland Singers through their final season, and is most recently a member of the new ensemble The Singers: Minnesota Choral Artists.
Collegiate teaching experience includes the University of Colorado at Boulder and Century College. She has also worked extensively with the private voice programs at Robbinsdale Armstrong High School, Eagan High School, and Rosemount High School. In addition to academic programs, 10 years of teaching continuing education and personal enrichment courses has led to a strong understanding and passion for working with adults.
Further vocal study has taken her twice to Milan, Italy where she has studied extensively with Rita Patane and also studies locally with Mary Kay Schmidt.
Ms. Tierney is a nationally certified member of MTNA (Music Teachers National Association and NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing).
